"Mailbox Backup" provides users with the function to export emails from the mailbox of this system. During export, the mailbox emails will be converted into a format used by common email software and compressed into a single file for convenient downloading.
Backup Email Methods
Step 1. Go to Inbox > Settings > General Inbox Management:
Step 2. After selecting the mailbox you want to back up, click on "Mailbox Backup".
Step 3. Choose the format and method of backup according to personal needs:
- File format
- Windows Live Mail / Windows Mail 7 (*.eml)
- UNIX MBOX (Berkeley UNIX Mailbox)：If you need to import into the Mail2000 system again, please select this format for exporting.
- Backup Method
- All Correspondence
- Unsaved emails
- Letters received before the specified date.
It is recommended that the mailbox file size does not exceed 1024MB, as there is a file size limit for uploading during restoration. If it exceeds the limit, please download in batches according to the date.
The backup method selected is "offline backup." After the system background processing is completed, a download notification will be sent.
Step 4. Download the backup ZIP file:

Note: The temporary ZIP file will be deleted from the system after a certain period of time. Please download it within the specified timeframe.
Note: When the path length of the backup mailbox exceeds 255 bytes, the mailbox will be renamed, for example, "mbox_1", "wm7_2", etc., but this does not affect the email backup operation.
Importing emails method:
Step 1: Similarly, go to general mailbox management, choose the mailbox to which you want to restore the email, check it, and select "Import ZIP".
Step 2. Select the ZIP file of the previous backup and upload it:
Step 3: After completion, you can view the emails in that mailbox.
Step 4: If there were ZIP files downloaded in batches previously, you can repeat the actions in Step 1 to import the same mailbox again.
How to import emails into Outlook
- When using the import function in MS Outlook Express 5, please select the directory where the files are uncompressed rather than the directory where the data file is located.

- After successfully importing the mailbox, you will be able to see the mailbox in the mailbox list.
- Remarks
- Exporting emails from this system is referred to as importing for the destination email software.
- If you want to transfer the emails from this system to Outlook Express after backing up, you should first backup the email box of this system, and then import the backed-up email box emails into Outlook Express.
