Where Basic Search is located and how it works
This chapter explains what Basic Search does, how to use it, and what its limits are. It also defines the search fields available for mail content.
Where Basic Search is located and how it works
Basic Search is the search bar fixed at the top-right corner of the page, as shown below:
Basic Search currently supports three different search fields. Click the "▽" next to the search bar to choose which field to search; the default is Mail Body, as shown below:
It lets you search the mail archives currently online. The available search fields are:

Searches the body of every mail, including the contents of attachments. |

Sender/Recipient |
Searches the email addresses of mail, including sender and recipient addresses in the envelope as well as the From and To addresses in the RFC 822 headers. |
How to use Basic Search
The two examples below illustrate how to use Basic Search.
Example 1
Basic Search — find mail whose body contains the keyword "本公司" (our company).
- Type "本公司" in the Basic Search bar and click the magnifying-glass icon.
- The system displays the search results.
Example 2
Basic Search — find mail whose subject contains the keyword "你好" (hello).
- Type "你好" in the Basic Search bar, click the "+" icon, and choose Subject.
- The search results appear as shown below:
Keyword restrictions
The Basic Search input does not accept the symbols & | ! ( ) and similar. To search multiple fields or multiple keywords at once, please use Advanced Search.
