A Mail Abstract Export saves everything about each message except the body and attachments. The exportable fields include Date, Subject, Envelope From, Envelope RCPT, Sender, Bcc, Recipient, Cc, Message size, Matched attachment, Keyword found inside attachment, All attachments, Located on remote server, Server location, Mail database ID, and Message path. The steps are:
- In the Export dialog, click the Abstract tab; you can choose CSV or HTML.
- You can split the output into multiple files of a specified row count.
- Once the export finishes, download the file from Export Results.
Opening CSV files
Open the CSV file in a UTF-8-capable viewer (Notepad, for example). To open it with Microsoft Excel, use the Import command and follow the wizard. The steps for Excel 2007 are:

On the Data tab, choose From Text and select the CSV file you want to import.
- For Excel 2000/2003, go to Data > Import External Data > Import Data and select the CSV file to import.
- Choose Fixed Width and set the file's encoding to UTF-8. After the import finishes, the CSV displays correctly.
Opening HTML files
The system produces an HTML file based on the fields you selected. You can open it directly or save it. The output looks like this:
